Work and productivity to a very large extent depends on the work environment and relations employees share within the work place. If all are treated with equal dignity, it is seen in the final result or outcome. And if the work environment is not good, employees do not work whole heartedly, they lose interest in their work, as a result the work and progress of the company is affected majorly.
But as a manger you can avoid this major obstacle from the path of success by understanding and working on the below given points:
- Rules for everyone: A
good manager has to be very clear with his rules. Whatever he decides should be in a manual and should be strictly followed. A good manager should not be biased when it comes to the implementation of rules. If it is for everyone it has to be for everyone; no one should get away with it easily. - Proper contract: To carry out work efficiently and smoothly a manger should lay down all the terms and conditions at the time of interview itself. This is to avoid any doubts or conflicts the employer and the manager. This also acts as a psychological contract between the boss and the employer hired.
- Indoor surveys: This exercise can be very helpful to build better understanding between the manger and the employee. The surveys could be on soft skills that need improvement or work related. This is an easy way of laying down weaknesses and strengths of the team.
- Actions against non-performers: In simple words this means a manager should not only appreciate the hard-working employees but also take actions against the ones who break the rules. This will boost the good performers and discourage the wrong ones.
With these simple guidelines you can create a good atmosphere in your company and gear-up for rewards because positive energy leads to positive results!
