I agree with you so much. If financial education would have been given by the older generation and the younger generation would have taken it,  there wouldn&#039;t have been any illiteracy problem. Also parental knowledge is not enough. Some formal education in the field should also be given</description>

		<description>Thanks for the article, including many interesting stats. I think the emphasis on making personal finance an ongoing discussion, from childhood on, is right on target. 

I&#039;ve been interviewing people over 50 years old, asking them what they&#039;ve learned about personal finance that they&#039;d like to pass on to the younger generations. They&#039;re so eager to share! 

The sad thing is, nobody seems to ask them for their wisdom. It&#039;s like, when they die, most of the older generation will take it&#039;s financial wisdom with them, partially because the younger generation failed to ask, but also because the older generation never engaged the younger in that ongoing financial conversation. Very sad.
