Is Money Good Or Bad?
I don’t know what a general perspective of looking at money is, but I certainly love it. My parents always told me that working for money or wanting more money is harmful and I may never be successful if I thought about it this way.
You think my parents are inane? Probably. But so are many people around the world who think similar to my parents. Many are always taught since childhood that money is bad (they don’t say this directly, but there are ways they use very shrewdly to tell this). They say money is the root cause of all evil and wealthy people are rarely seen happy. I don’t really know who derived this condition: if you are rich, you aren’t happy.
Ok. Now there are also people who want be on either sides. They say having money is good, but being greedy for money is not at all moral. Why? Tell me one thing that money can’t buy. I know they have this explanation of ‘money can’t buy
happiness and blah, blah, blah.’ But do you really believe so? Are we really happy if we don’t have money?
The answer is obviously no. We would never be happy if we don’t have money to repay the mortgage amount, to pay off your credit card debts, to buy a new car, to organize a party for your new girl friend.
You are happy if you have money. And when people don’t have enough money, they say money is not good. And you know what? This ‘ideology’ is hindering the growth of today’s youth, family, business, and the country. The people who live under the influence of such philosophy lack the motivation of earning money, getting promotion, generating side incomes and any other activity that can bring money. Is it really doing good to the society?
Bill Gates, owner of Microsoft Corporation, probably has wealth that can easily eradicate the financial crises of United States. Just imagine what would have happened if Bill Gates might have embraced this ideology when he entered Microsoft at the age of 17? Probably it would have been owned by some slothful individual believing ‘money is bad’ and Microsoft would not have been even on Wall Street.
Money is a motivational factor due to which we, as world population, are able to witness growth in every industry. Money is helping each country to build its strength, defend itself. Every individual needs money to look after his family’s needs, his kid’s education, and health.
The fact is this: more money is never bad. It purely depends on how you use it and what consequences you face due to it. And if you use it unwisely, please do not teach your kids that money is evil. There is nothing holy or praiseworthy about being poor. Teach your kids to strive hard to earn money.
Look at the condition of our economy. It doesn’t have enough money now. Have you thought what will happen if Obama says ‘Money is Evil’ and never tries to help the country economically?
