There are numerous people in the world who are so particular and also perfect in their own job. They are just sincere in the things they are allotted or they wish to do. Frankly speaking, I am totally afraid of such people as they are so time binding that some times I used to call them as alarms!! But still they are happy with their life. Even if you look over their lives, you’ll find that they are accurately accurate in finishing their “to-do” list. They are actually rocking personalities in satisfying the lists. I appreciate their punctuality as they hardly push their work on tomorrow which I am expert in.
But, with one of my intimate of the same attitude, I have seen a great dilemma. He used to be an active office staff and the scenario led to start a new business of his own. As he was very much clear in his own job he never had a problem of frustration, but being a business man, he has to handle a good staff under him and also many tasks of the people owed to him, contractors he is responsible for keeping on track, as well as a need to complete his own projects. Now, the reversal scenario was seen as he was totally incapable of handling all the staff members and their tasks. Strangely enough, we found him frustrated and nearly depressed.
I was stuck with some doubts in my mind. The person who is expert of doing own jobs, can’t make others to do it? Are we avoiding the managerial skills or we are lacking it?
I made a research on it and found some of the facts and secrets of the management, which are really worth sharing with you.
No dependency
By just having an overlook of our situation in management, we’ll find some of us to be just crazy of technology. Even for the smallest job, we are just dependent of technological instruments. For example, if it is a multiple calculation, we use the calculator and it is absolutely ok but even if is a simple math’s; we never even try to make it in our way. So, here we can say that if it is a management issue, we really need to develop our own skills with the technology.
Almost everyone relies on the technology and even I recommend them but use it in overall interest. Remember one thing, technology is to help us and improve our efficiency, but if they are making us a dumb and dependent of it, it’s no longer a boon.
There are lots of technologies to make the people accurate and time binding, but they shouldn’t be served harshly. One thing should keep in mind quite strongly, that men are more precious than the machines.
The way you can handle the person and manages the group, the computers can never. For example, there is a project work and you need to attend a meeting personally, but you rely more on computers. You ask the project members to see the video clips and then to get started. Now, if you would have attended the meeting, you could have personally approached everyone and asked for the queries they are having. That would have made the people more attached with the project and also the doubts would have got cleared.
The feelings delivered by the persons, can make the job easier than the mechanical jobs. So, it’s better to become independent from the technology. Technology is like a friend, it must be used when required, but only in the requirement!!
Don’t think of yours only
The to-do list followers are the people who believe in personnel qualities and also making best use of it. But, the management funda is a different funda. For the management, you need to think about the mass quality and should work collectively by keeping everyone’s ability in mind.
But as said, if it is a managerial skill, the person must be aware of the fact that all the fingers never have the same height and all the workers may not have the same ability. So, if you are a manager or boss of a staff, just try to understand the qualities of your staff and never compare them with your quality or ability.
Since you are the boss, you can easily ask or force your employees to do the job you preferred, but then they won’t be working fully. Only their body would be there to work, not the mind and soul. For the perfect execution and also the special quality of the managers is to use all the three resources of employees, mind, body and soul. The output can be more qualitative and also more quantitative if all the three factors are going in the same direction. Think for others.
Be practical and positive
Once you select the job and accept the responsibility of management, you are bound to be practical and positive. There should be no biased behaviors and you need to take some bold decisions if required because the people will follow what they will be seeing. So, even if at the higher post there is some skill less persons, dare to remove them and place the perfect person at the perfect post. Don’t be over confident as well as under confident. Be practical and keep your emotions in your control.
