There are many people who are addicted to spending money without take a note of their budget. Research has shown that those who have abundance of money do not take spending money as a symbol of power while a demoted person may take spending money as a symbol of power in his stride.

You can feel powerful in your life while you stick to your budget in the following ways:

  1. Understand the different types of power: There are different types of power which needs to be used at different parts of your like and at different types. You can feel physically powerful, professionally powerful, spiritually powerful, and so on. Feeling financially powerful will make you spend less
  2. Understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy power: To feel more powerful in your life you need to understand whether you are using the power for good or to control others. Being manipulative, implacable, dishonest are unhealthy ways of expressing power. While being healthy emotionally does affect your spending habits, if you’re doing things that make you feel powerful in life, you actually have less time and energy to spend money.
  3. Rise to a work challenge: You need to aim at rising high by taking all challenges at work. This is the best way to increase your personal sense of power by gaining confidence which helps you to spend less money. It doesn’t matter at what designation you are working you should aim at accepting all challenges at your work level.
  4. Learn to say ‘no’: It is very important to say NO. There are many people who just cannot say no. You need to understand that you have a choice and you should opt for the option that best suits your timing. You should not feel guilty or ashamed to say NO. This includes saying No to lunches or dinners that you cannot afford, it also includes luxuries that are not in your budget and activities that are difficult to perform.   5. Indulge in playing your favorite sport: Playing your favorite sport is the best way to feel powerful. Playing keeps your adrenalin rushing and increases your confidence. You can indulge in swimming or playing golf whatever suits your mood and style. You can just enjoy yourself in a park that is in your vicinity and do not need to spend more going to other recreational areas. Once you start learning the sport you will gain mower confidence and power.
  6. Exercise: Just like following your favorite sport exercising is another option which boosts your self confidence. Some may feel visiting the gym and sweating out is the best way to gain confidence while others may feel Pilates is the best booster. The type of exercise which offers comfort and confidence is quite relative. It differs from one person to another. Registering yourself in self defense classes like karate or kick boxing increases your sense of physical and mental power. The more you exercise, you will feel more confident and you will not feel the need to spend money on things that are avoidable. You will also make good health which means les spending on medical bills.
  7. Create positive change: You need to have a positive outlook in life, and also sense others people lives which will make you feel happy with what you have and also contented. Once you are contented with life you will not fall under peer pressure and spend money unnecessarily. You will also be able to save a lot of money as your heart is contented with what you have.

If you follow these guidelines you will be more confident and powerful and will be able to save a lot of money that is spent on unnecessary things.
